Former BSS Chief News Editor Amirul Momenin passes away

 Former Chief News Editor of Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha (BSS) and veteran member of the National Press Club Amirul Momenin passed away at his Green Road residence in the capital on Tuesday afternoon. He was 75.

Amirul Momenin, who had been suffering from terminal cancer for a prolonged period, breathed his last around 3:00 PM on Tuesday, September 15, his wife Gulshan Ara confirmed to BSS. He leaves behind his wife, two sons, one daughter, and a host of relatives and well-wishers.

Hailing from Bagerhat district, Amirul Momenin had a distinguished career in journalism, holding key editorial responsibilities at the national news agency BSS during his long professional tenure.

His first Namaz-e-Janaza was held at Green Road Jame Mosque on Tuesday afternoon. His body will be taken to his ancestral home in Bagerhat on Tuesday night, where his second Namaz-e-Janaza will take place on Wednesday, September 16, after Zuhr prayers, followed by burial in his family graveyard.

National Press Club President Hasan Hafiz and General Secretary Ayub Bhuiyan expressed deep grief over the passing of the veteran journalist, offering prayers for the salvation of his departed soul and extending condolences to his bereaved family.
