Forest Research Institute's innovative technology introduction workshop held in C'nawabganj

A workshop on innovative technology introduction was held in Chapainawabganj organized by Bangladesh Forest Research Institute (BFRI) on Wednesday morning, the workshop was held at the District
Administration Office auditorium with the participation of various government and private organizations of the district. BFRI Forest
Management Wing Chief Research Officer Dr. Hasina Mariam presided over the workshop with Deputy Commissioner Mr. Abdus Samad as the chief guest.


The workshop presented research results on bamboo cultivation using the Kanchi column method, improved methods for extracting aromatic oil from agarwood, bamboo composite products and furniture, leaf-eating insects of teak trees and their control, various diseases of forests and seedbeds and their remedies, tree planting in agricultural fields, methods and management of seedlings from small seeds of medicinal plants, and methods of raising and planting palm seedlings. In addition, the topic of the Forestry Museum was discussed.

The technologies invented through the research were presented by Dr. Hasina Mariam, Chief Research Officer of the BFRI Forest Management Wing and Anisur Rahman, Divisional Officer of the Timber Conservation Department of the Chittagong Forest Resources Wing.

Various presentations of the invented technologies were presented during this time.

The workshop was attended by representatives of various organizations, including timber and nursery traders, leaders of sawmill and furniture owners' associations, media personnel, heads of local educational
institutions and others.
