Foreign ships at first terminal of Pyara Port

MV Jain has experimentally docked at the newly- constructed first terminal jetty at Payra port in Tuakhali.
The mother vessel, Panama-flagged MV Jane, anchored at 4pm on Wednesday.
This was confirmed by Payra Port Deputy Director (Traffic) Md. Azizur Rahman . He said that the ship brought 50,500 tons of stone and 12 meters draft from Fujairah Port in Dubai.
The ship, carrying 24,000 limestone, berthed safely at the first terminal jetty of Payra Port on Wednesday. From 4:30 pm, the ship's cargo unloading process started.
Azizur Rahman, Deputy Director of Traffic Department of Payra Port Authority, said, "An experimental ship has taken a position at the jetty of the port. Today is a historic moment for Payara Port. A new horizon of possibilities for Payra Port has started with the anchoring of the vessel MV Jain at Payra Port's first terminal jetty.
On November 19, 2013, Pyara's official journey began as the country's third sea port at Ramnabad Channel in Kalapara, Patuakhali.
Operations began in August 2016 at the port's outer anchorage. Since then goods are discharged through lighterage of ships arriving at the port. Apart from this, the discharge operation was going on at Payra thermal power plant's own jetty.
