Flood situation improves in Sherpur

The overall flood situation in the district is gradually improving as water levels in major rivers are in decreasing trend.
The four rivers water in Sherpur has started decreasing gradually. As a result, the water of these rivers is now flowing below the danger level of the district.
However, water has increased in Brahmaputra, Dashani and Mrigi rivers. Although the water has increased, the water of these rivers is flowing below the danger level.
Relief activities have been started by the district administration.
Water Development Board of Sherpur sources said, the water level of Bhogai River in the district is 138 cm, Chellakhali River 77 cm and Brahmaputra River 540 cm below the danger level. Apart from this, the water of two other rivers Maharshi and Someshwari is below the danger level at 9 am today.
Deputy Commissioner (DC) of the district Tarafdar Mahmudur Rahman said, we are continuing our efforts to deliver relief items to the flood affected areas of the district and army is cooperating with us in this work.
We will be able to face this suffering together, the DC said.
