First meeting on welfare, rehab of July martyrs' families, fighters held

The government is fully committed to implementing the core spirit of the July mass uprising, ensuring proper rehabilitation for martyrs' families, and providing quality medical treatment and economic self-reliance for injured July fighters, said Liberation War Affairs Minister Ahmed Azam Khan, MP.
He made these remarks while presiding over the first meeting of the Central Committee on the Welfare and Rehabilitation of July Mass Uprising Martyrs' Families and July Fighters, held on Wednesday morning at the conference room of the Ministry of Liberation War Affairs.
He emphasized that through the ministry and the newly formed July Directorate, work will be carried out for the welfare of every martyr's family and injured fighter without any negligence.
Reiterating the government's pledge to serve those affected by the July violence, the minister stated that the administration led by Prime Minister Tarique Rahman is dedicated to building Bangladesh in the spirit of the July mass uprising.
State Minister for Liberation War Affairs Ishraque Hossain, MP, speaking as a special guest, placed strong emphasis on medical treatment and rehabilitation.
Ministry Secretary Md. Ashraful Islam highlighted efforts to ensure transparency and accuracy, stating that errors or complaints regarding lists of martyrs and fighters are being investigated and rectified with utmost transparency. Applications undergo district-level verification through relevant committees along with medical certificates, followed by security vetting through the Ministry of Public Security where applicable, and final notification upon the recommendation of the July Mass Uprising Directorate.
Special invitee Rokeya Begum, MP for reserved women's seat-345 and mother of July martyr Jabir, attended the meeting alongside the CEO of the July Martyr Memorial Foundation, the Director General of Health Services, and nominated representatives from the Cabinet Division, Prime Minister's Office, Finance Division, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Health Services Division, Public Security Division, local government bodies, and various other ministries, alongside designated representatives of martyr families and July fighters. The meeting discussed the authentic roster of martyrs and fighters and adopted necessary decisions concerning their welfare and rehabilitation.
