Newly- appointed first female Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Barguna Ms. Taslima Akhtar has emerged as a new symbol of enthusiasm and hope in the administration system of Barguna
She is being praised for public service, humanity, and development.
At the beginning of the winter season, she has taken initiatives both personally and through government arrangementsto distribute clothes among helpless, cold-stricken, and poor people, rehabilitate beggars, provide educational assistance, and strengthen social protection.
Since assuming the responsibilities of Deputy Commissioner, she has been taking a series of effective initiatives marked by humanity, sincerity, and development-oriented vision.
Immediately after taking charge, she began on-site inspections of development projects, educational institutions, healthcare services, roads, and river erosion issues in various parts of the district. Through close communication with the local administration and general people, she has identified real challenges firsthand and taken initiatives to address them.
She has started visiting every upazila, town, and underprivileged area of the district. Alongside learning about public issues, she is closely monitoring ongoing development activities. Besides , steps taken to simplify government services have earned widespread praise from the public.
She has initiated long-term plans in every sector of the district including river erosion prevention, waterway communication, tourism, education, and healthcare.
This Deputy Commissioner is working by maintaining regular communication with local leadership, journalists, civil society members, and general people.
The new Deputy Commissioner said, “To build Barguna as a developed, citizen-friendly, and model district, the highest importance will be given to good governance and public service.”
Regarding Barguna’s development potential, educational infrastructure, waterway communication, climate risks, marine-based economy, and tourism sector., she has begun working on short, mid. and long-term plans. Her dedication and strong commitment as the role of Deputy Commissioner have revived new hopes in the minds of the people of Barguna.
