Bhola: A mobile court has fined a flour mill Tk 100,000 and sealed the factory in the BSCIC industrial area of Bhola over allegations of illegally stockpiling fuel oil. The incident sparked tension among workers.
The drive was conducted on Tuesday night by Executive Magistrate Sayed Mahmud Bulbul.
According to mobile court sources, the operation was carried out at a factory named Khal Flower Mills based on information that a large quantity of fuel oil had been stored illegally. During the drive, approximately 4,000 liters of oil were seized.
In connection with the incident, factory owner Jamal Uddin Khan was fined Tk 100,000. The court also ordered one month of imprisonment in default of payment.
During the operation, workers protested, claiming the fuel was stored legally. They blocked the mobile court’s vehicle by placing bricks and sandbags and locked the factory’s main gate. Police later arrived and brought the situation under control.
After nearly three hours of operation, the factory was sealed.
Executive Magistrate Sayed Mahmud Bulbul said the fuel was seized due to the absence of valid documents and that legal action was taken accordingly.
However, factory owner Jamal Uddin Khan claimed that he had stored the fuel with proper authorization for running the factory.
