Farzana Rupa, Shakeel Ahmed detained at Dhaka airport

The Chief Reporter Farzana Rupa and Chief News Editor Shakeel Ahmed, who were sacked from Ekatar Television, were stopped by the immigration police at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport while they were going to France.
Immigration police prevented them from leaving the country on Wednesday (August 21) morning. They were later handed over to the DB police on duty at the airport.
Airport sources confirmed the matter.
According to sources, Shakeel Ahmed, Farzana Rupa and her daughter were detained at 8:20 am. They arrived at the airport on a Turkish Airlines flight (TK-713) to Paris via Istanbul.
The airport authorities could not confirm where they are currently kept.
