More than 20 farmers including 'Nikra' TCL Agro and Dairy Farm, Shihab Dairy Farm and Bismillah Agro of Jalalpur, 'Maitpara' Khan Agro and Brother Agra Farm of Dirkum Itbhata Road have prepared hundreds of thousands of animals for sacrifice in Dhaka's Dohar Upazila ahead of the upcoming Qurbani Eid.

The farmers are busy taking care of different breeds of animals to bring them to the market. The farm owners said that the food of the cows is prepared in a completely natural and organic way without using any chemical drugs to fatten the cows.

Besides, they have become self-sufficient with the cooperation of the Upazila Veterinary Hospital and Animal Resources Department. They are also promoting the details and addresses of the animals through social media on the activities of independent farmers and buyers of sacrificial animals. Buyers from far away come to the farms to see the sacrificial animals.

Mizanur Rahman Saddam, General-Editor of Upazila Secchaseb League and Director of Brother Egra Farm, said that in the earlier part, many buyers went to the farm and chose the animals for the sacrifice and paid in advance. Many people are buying their favorite animals from the farm. Their farm has about two hundred different breeds of small, large and medium sized cows.

TCL Agro and Dairy Farm is located in Banaghata area of the upazila. The farm started in 2020 with just 2 cows inspired by TCL Agro & Dairy Farm owner Tanveer Ahmed's father and grandfather's involvement in agriculture.

At present, he has prepared about two hundred bulls of small, large and medium size ahead of the upcoming Qurbani Eid in his farm. Based on the demand of the buyers, 5 breeds of bulls including Shahiwal, Desi, Fijian, Gir and Holstein Friesian are reared here.

Tanveer Ahmed, the owner of TCL Agro and Dairy Farm, said that more than 25 employees, including 2 established veterinarians, a livestock officer, are engaged in the care of more than 200 bulls and cows in our farm. Their care work starts from morning. The prices of farm animals are also within the affordability of buyers. There are cows worth up to 10 lakh rupees. Minimum 2 lakh rupees. Live weight 250 kg more than 800 kg.

Shahjahan Khan, Director of Shihab Agro Farm, said that due to lack of support from the bank, there are less animals for sacrifice in our farm. But I hope this Eid sales will be good. Sales have already started and some of our cows are booked. I hope the rest will be finished before Eid.

Dohar Upazila Livestock Officer Dr. Md. Shamim Hossain said that 3,300 marginal farmers in Doha upazila have prepared their cattle. He claimed that due to the goodwill of Honorable MP Salman Fazlur Rahman and the inspiration of farmers, more cows have been prepared to meet the demand. We are working to increase entrepreneurship in animal sector.
