Farmers busy planting Boro seedlings in Kapasia

Boro paddy seedlings are being planted in 11 unions of Kapasia upazila of Gazipur. Farmers are busy planting Boro rice across the crop fields. Local farmers have been seen planting Boro rice seedlings despite the dense fog and bitter cold.
It can be seen on the ground that local farmers are cultivating the land. Some are using cows and buffaloes to till the land. Some are planting rice seedlings. Some are working on other people's land. This time the cost is increasing more than last year.
According to Kapasia Upazila Agriculture Office sources, a total of 13,945 hectares of Boro rice have been planted in the upazila till January, which has achieved the target level of 11,850 hectares this time. This time, the cultivation of Boro rice varieties hybrids Tia, Moyna, SL8H, Syngenta 7720, Syngenta 1203, Syngenta 1205, Hira 02, 05, 19, Naveen, Dawn 111, Lucky Chakka, Yuvraj, Tej Gold, BR 14, 16, Bridhan 28, 29, 50, 58, 67, 74, 84, 88, 89, 92, 96, 100, 101, 102, 104, 105, 107, 108, Binadhan 25 is underway.
In addition, the Upazila Agriculture Office is providing assistance to local farmers in various ways. And round-the-clock monitoring is being done.
Akhter Hossain Akand, a farmer from Kenduab village, said, we have started the cultivation of Boro rice with the cooperation and guidance of the Agriculture Office. However, currently, due to the increase in the price of fertilizer and fuel, the production cost of Boro rice cultivation has increased. However, if the cultivation environment and weather are favorable, it is expected that there will be a bumper harvest of Boro rice this year as well as last year.
Kapasia Upazila Agriculture Officer and Agriculturist Suman Kumar Basak said that every year, Boro rice cultivation in the upazila is good. At the same time, the target is met. This time too, we hope that local farmers will benefit greatly from Boro cultivation this season. Moreover, the Upazila Agriculture Office has taken various steps to encourage local farmers to cultivate crops and make them skilled and implemented them.
In each block of the upazila, deputy assistant agricultural officers are going to the field and giving various directions to the farmers in Boro cultivation. The agricultural office is playing its role by adopting various strategies, including encouraging farmers to bring fallow lands under cultivation.
If the weather conditions and environment are favorable, there will be a bumper harvest of Boro rice in Kaptai this year too.
