Farmers' Field Day, training workshop held in Nakla

A Farmers' Field Day and training workshop were held in Nakla Upazila of Sherpur district on Sunday.
The Field Day on Bari sweet potato-6 at the courtyard of farmer Abdul Khalek's house in Jankipur village under Chandrakona Union organized by Nakla upazila agriculture office under the Department of Agricultural Extension (DAE) in Chandrakona block of the upazila implemented under Kandal Crop Development Scheme in the financial year 2022-23.
Agriculturist Abdul Wadud Upazila Agriculture Officer (UAO) of Nakla presided over the field day, where Agriculturist Md Masudur Rahman Additional Deputy Director (ADD Garden) of Sherpur farm house was present as chief guest.
Among others, Agricultural Extension Officer (AEO) Agriculturalist Sheikh Fazlul Haque Mani and AEO Agriculturalist Md Shaheen Rana, Sub Assistant Agriculture Officer (SAAO) Abu Motaleb, hundreds of local farmers and dignitaries of the area were present.
UAO agriculturist Abdul Wadud said that Bari sweet potato-6 yielded 30 metric tons per hectare.
On the other hand, a day-long non-group farmer training workshop was held on Sunday under the project to increase the intensity of crops in the Greater Mymensingh region.
The training workshop organized by the Upazila Agriculture Office in the farmer training room of the Upazila Agriculture Office. 30 farmers from different areas of the upazila participated in this training.
