The newly- elected Member of Parliament of Faridpur-3 constituency from BNP, Chowdhury Nayab Yusuf, paid a courtesy visit to his closest rival in the election, Professor Abadut Tawab, the parliamentary candidate nominated by Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami and the 11-party alliance.
On Saturday noon, the newly -elected Member of Parliament Chowdhury Nayab Yusuf went to Professor Abadut Tawab’s house on Dhopabari Road in the Lakshmipur area of the town and paid him a courtesy call. At that time BNP leaders were present with Chowdhury Nayab Yusuf.
They said that the newly elected Member of Parliament Chowdhury Nayab Yusuf went to Professor Abadut Tawab’s house around 12 noon to pay a courtesy visit. Chowdhury Nayab Yusuf sought help and advice from him and said, “I want to be the MP for everyone. I seek your cooperation and advice.”
At that time Professor Abadut Tawab expressed gratitude to Nayab Yusuf and assured the newly elected Member of Parliament of his overall cooperation. Jamaat leaders said that Chowdhury Nayab Yusuf had called Professor Tawab Sir to meet him. Later he came to pay a courtesy visit. The two leaders exchanged views for about half an hour.
During this time they discussed various important issues. At the same time, they expressed their commitment to work together through mutual cooperation for the overall development of the people of Faridpur. Later, the guests were entertained with grapes, malta, and two kinds of sweets.
It is mentioned that in the Faridpur-3 constituency, formed with the Sadar Upazila, BNP candidate Nayab Yusuf won with 148,545 votes. His closest rival, Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami candidate Abadut Tawab, received 124,115 votes.
