A farewell reception has been held in Shantiganj, Sunamganj, organized by the Primary Education Family in honor of the Upazila Nirbahi Officer, the Upazila Primary Education Officer, and retired head and assistant teachers.
The event was organized on Saturday in the Jhilimil Auditorium of Shantiganj Upazila. It was presided over by Upazila Assistant Primary Education Officer Md. Masum Mia, and conducted jointly by Head Teacher Ashish Kumar Chakraborty and Assistant Teacher Camellia Chowdhury.
The chief guest of the event was Shantiganj UNO Sukanta Saha.
He said, I had the opportunity to work in Shantiganj Upazila for more than two years. I tried to bring a significant change in primary education, which became possible with your cooperation. The ‘Shantiganj Model’ is now known in various parts of the country. It is your responsibility to maintain it.
Special guests addressing the program included Instructor UPTC Bimal Kumar Sarkar and recently retired Upazila Primary Education Officer Md. Selim Khan.
Others who spoke included retired head teachers Amir Uddin, Ashok Kumar Das, head teachers Manik Lal Chakraborty, Rajib Roy, Saleh Ahmad, Likhil Mojumdar, retired assistant teachers Suruj Ali, Ranjit Kumar Das, assistant teachers Ritu Kumar Das, Benu Mojumdar, Munni Rani De, Sukriti Biswas, Foysal Ahmad, and Sultan Mahmud.
Also present were head teacher Sudha Mojumdar, acting head teacher Fatema Chowdhury, retired assistant teacher Amirul Islam, assistant teacher Maulana Mamunur Rashid, along with teachers from various schools of the upazila.
At the end of the event, the guests presented memento honors to departing UNO Sukanta Saha, Upazila Primary Education Officer Md. Selim Khan, and all retired teachers.
