Fakhrul opposes formation of political party under govt shelter

BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has accused some "Advisers" of the interim government of plotting to form a new political party.
He made the allegation during a program organized by the Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal on Wednesday (February 19).
Mirza Fakhrul said, "We supported the interim government, and they are trying to complete some tasks quickly to move towards elections. However, doubts have arisen among the people. The question is whether they are truly sincere about the election."
He said, "We clearly say that we will welcome any new political party formed, and we will support any student organizations or parties that emerge. But that doesn’t mean forming a party while holding government positions and using all the government resources, which the people will never accept."
Fakhrul further said, "I urge the government and the head of government to take immediate action on this matter. Otherwise, the trust the people have in you will fade away."
