
Explosion due to gas leakage in Chandpur burn 6 members of same family

A gas leakage explosion occurred in a house in Koralia of Chandpur city. In this incident, 6 members of the same family were burnt. Four of them were sent to Dhaka as their condition was critical.
The accident occurred on the fourth floor of Zakir's building in the Koralia area early Sunday morning.
The burnt victims are - Abdur Rahman (60), his wife Shahnaz Begum (55), sons Imam Hossain Sardar (35), Mohin Sardar (16), daughter-in-law Khadija Begum (25) and son Miraz's wife Niba Akhter (22).
It is learned that daughter-in-law Khadija Begum went to the kitchen to heat food for Sehri early Sunday morning. At that time, an explosion occurred due to a gas stove leakage. Abdur Rahman, his wife, two sons, and two daughters-in-law of the house were burnt. Four of them were initially sent to the Dhaka Burn Unit. Later, the doctor said that two people were being sent.
Family member Lijon Talukder said that there were 11 people in the house. Of these, 6 were burned. Abdur Rahman's younger son left the house at night. He locked the first door of the house at night. As a result, the fire spread throughout the house, and they were delayed in leaving the house.
Rashida Begum, a neighbor, said that after getting up for sehri, she heard a loud noise and screams. Later, she was delayed in opening the door. After opening the door, they were rescued and sent to the hospital.
Chandpur General Hospital doctor Mahmudul Hasan said that the injured people brought to the hospital had burns on their hands, feet, and face. After receiving primary treatment, four people were sent to Dhaka. Later, the remaining two were also sent to Dhaka.
