Ex-ward councilor arrested over killing shop employee

Police have arrested two persons, including a former ward councillor of the Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) from the city's Khilgaon area, on charges of killing an employee of a grocery shop during the anti-discrimination student movement.
The arrestees are former ward councillor of ward-74 under the DSCC Md Azizul Haque and Swechasebak League member Md Obaidul Islam Rana, said a press release.
Police arrested the duo from the Khilgaon area on Thursday afternoon for their alleged involvement in the killing of a shop employee, Mizanur, who was shot dead during the anti-discrimination student movement in the Banosree area of the capital on July 19.
The arrested were sent to court in connection with the murder case filed with Khilgaon police station.
