Ex-MP Fazle Karim Chowdhury detained while fleeing to India

Three people including Fazle Karim Chowdhury, Awami League leader and former MP from Chattogram-6, have been detained at the border while attempting to enter India illegally.

Members of the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) detained them from the Akhaura border.

Md. Shariful Islam, the Public Relations Officer of BGB Headquarters, confirmed the matter on Thursday.

He said, "Fazle Karim Chowdhury and two others were detained by BGB while trying to illegally enter India through the Akhaura border in Brahmanbaria."

The other detained individuals are- former UP member from Nurpur area in Akhaura Md. Hannan Molla and local resident Md. Naim Chowdhury.

The process of handing over the detained individuals to the Akhaura police station is currently underway.
