
Ex-Deputy Minister Salam Pintu released in Bhuyapur

The leaders of Bhuyapur upazila, municipal and union BNP of Tangail held a joyous procession on the release of BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman, who was sentenced to life imprisonment in the much-discussed August 21 grenade attack case, former Minister of State for Home Lutfuzzaman Babar, who was sentenced to death, former MP of Tangail-2 Constituency and former Deputy Education Minister Abdus Salam Pintu.
The joyous procession with hundreds of workers started from Bhuyapur Upazila Parishad Chatter and circled the main main road of the city and ended at Upazila Chatter again.
Upazila BNP General Secretary Selimuzzaman Talukder Selu, Municipal BNP General Secretary Lutfar Rahman Gias, Jubo Dal convener Julhas Uddin, Jubo Dal leader Alim Chakdar, Rajib Hossain Kofil, Ranju Mondal, Swapan Tarafder, Tauhid Islam Bidyut and others were present.
It is to be noted that today Sunday (December 1) at 11 am, the High Court acquitted all the accused including BNP Acting Chairman Tarek Rahman, former State Minister of Home Affairs Lutfuzzaman Babar and former Deputy Education Minister Abdus Salam Pintu in the widely discussed August 21 grenade attack case.
On this day, the High Court bench of Justice AKM Asaduzzaman and Justice Syed Enayet Hossain announced the judgment by canceling the judgment of the judicial court.
