A Dhaka court today placed former Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) KM Nurul Huda on a fresh four-day remand in a case over alleged manipulation of national elections.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Awlad Hossain Mohammad Zunayed passed the order after police sought a 10-day remand, producing him before the court.
Earlier on June 23, another court had placed Nurul Huda on a four-day remand in the same case, filed by BNP leader Md Salah Uddin Khan against 24 people, including former PM Sheikh Hasina and three ex-CECs, over election rigging in 2014, 2018, and 2024.
Nurul Huda was apprehended by a mob on June 22 in Uttara and later arrested by police.
The case also accuses former home minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal, ex-IGPs, and intelligence officials.
