BNP Central Vice Chairman Md. Shahjahan said, the state belongs to everyone, the people own the state. After the 5th August movement, the people thought that they had regained ownership of their state. But the people could not keep this hope in their hearts. Today, differences have arisen among us, which some are magnifying and some are minimizing.

He made these remarks at a road meeting organized by the district BNP in front of Mofiz Plaza in the district town of Maijdi on Wednesday afternoon.

He said, "However, I think it is not very difficult for us to unite by removing these differences. Therefore, like the anti-fascist movement, we all have to unite again and build the state. We have no alternative to remaining united to better organize the independence and sovereignty of the state and to protect the people of the country from hegemony. Only then will this state truly belong to the people."

At a roadshow organized by BNP in Noakhali, BNP Central Vice Chairman Mohammad Shahjahan further said, "I express my gratitude to the leaders and activists of Sadar Subarnachar Upazila for your emotional and loving presence today and I will be by their side in happiness and sorrow. It is impossible to repay your prayers and love. I promise to be by your side for the rest of my life."

He further said, BNP never does power politics. BNP is with the people. Our party leaders and activists have not shed less blood in the anti-Awami government movement. We are responsible for those who were martyred, injured and affected in this uprising. Our party does not want to be a ruler, we want to be a servant. Therefore, we want a change of power through a fair election. In which all parties, big and small, will participate. There is no room for misunderstanding about this.

District BNP Convening Committee member and former District BNP General Secretary Advocate Abdur Rahman, along with leaders of its affiliates and associate organizations, were present at the event.
