
Election showdown in Faridpur : If power rests in hands of Ulamas, peace will prevail in society : Mufti Kamruzzaman

Ahead of the upcoming 13th National Parliamentary Election, various political organizations have started early election campaigns in Faridpur. As part of this, leaders and activists of Jamiat Ulamaye Islam Bangladesh organized a motorcycle showdown and rally in Faridpur for the first time.
The showdown was arranged by the party’s nominated candidate for Faridpur-3 constituency (Sadar), Mufti Kamruzzaman.
On Thursday at 3:00 PM, the showdown started from Jamia Arabia Shamsul Uloom Madrasa with over a hundred motorcycles, private cars, and pickups. After mass communication in different areas of the district town till 5:00 PM, it ended at the Model Mosque area.
It is known that Mufti Kamruzzaman is the president of the district branch of the organization and serves as the assistant joint secretary of the central committee. He is also working as the Mohtamim (principal) of Jamia Arabia Shamsul Uloom Madrasa.
Before the showdown, Mufti Kamruzzaman told journalists, from the anti-British movement to the uprising of August 2024, the role of Jamiat Ulamaye Islam Bangladesh has been indispensable. The activities of the organization in Faridpur were relatively limited, but from now on, it will gain momentum. The party has nominated me, and I will work with all my strength to stand beside the people.
He further said, since the central committee has nominated me, we are trying to make people understand that when power rests in the hands of Ulamas, Inshallah, peace and discipline will prevail in society. Boys and girls will refrain from bribery, corruption, and immoral activities. We will try to provide people with a beautiful society.” He also mentioned that he would follow the central decision regarding alliances with Islamic-oriented parties.
The motorcycle showdown was attended by Shaykhul Hadith Allama Helaluddin; Jamiat Ulamaye Islam Bangladesh’s nominated candidate for Faridpur-1, Mufti Zakir Hossain Kashemi; nominated candidate for Faridpur-2, Mufti Mamun Abdullah Kashemi; district general secretary Maulana Ismail Hossain; vice-president Maulana Delwar Hossain; joint general secretary Maulana Abdul Matin; organizing secretary Maulana Kabir Ahmed; city branch president Maulana Mansur Ahmed, along with district and upazila-level leaders and activists.
The motorcycle showdown and rally ended with a dua and munajat at the premises of Goalchamat Model Mosque. The prayer session was conducted by senior Islamic scholar of Faridpur and hadith teacher of Char Komlapur Madrasa, Maulana Md. Abul Husain.
