Elderly plaintiff beaten up in Singair

An allegation of beating up the elderly plaintiff Md. Sobhan Molla (70) who came on bail from Manikganj's Singair court. Sobhan Molla, who was seriously injured in the beating, is currently undergoing treatment at the Upazila Health Complex.

The incident took place in Irta (Rasulpur) area of Talebpur Union of the upazila on Tuesday afternoon.

Sobhan Molla's daughter-in-law Kulsoom became the plaintiff and filed a written complaint with the police station accusing 4 people including local UP member Md Humayun.

According to the victim's family and complaint sources, about three months ago UP member of Talebpur Union Parishad of Upazila Md Humayun beat Sobhan Molla of Irta village and vandalized his house.

In this incident, Sobhan Molla filed a case in Manikganj court with Md. Humayun as the main defendant. Case No. CR 870. UP member Md Humayun and other accused came on bail in that case.

On Tuesday afternoon, the plaintiff in the case attacked Sobhan Molla by blocking his speed from the road. Sobhan Molla and his grandson Al Amin were injured.

Md. Humayun, UP member of Talebpur Union Parishad No. 8, said, I did not attack Sobhan Molla. As a member of the area, the UP Chairman gave me the responsibility to resolve the dispute. I have nothing to do with the attack. I am a victim of local political vendetta.

Syed Mizanur Islam, officer-in-charge of Singair police station, said that Kulsoom, the daughter-in-law of Sobhan Molla, the victim of the attack, has filed a written complaint. After investigation, legal action will be taken against the accused.
