Egyptian delegation meets DU VC

A four-member delegation led by former Chancellor of Al-Azhar University, Egypt Prof. Ibrahim Salah Elsayed Soliman Elhodhod called on Dhaka University (DU) Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Md. Akhtaruzzaman on Saturday at the latter’s office of the university.
Other members of the delegation were Member of the House of Representatives of Egypt Mohamed Mahmoud Ahemd Hashim, Prof. Gamal Farouk Gebril Mahmoud Eldakak and Prof. Mahmoud Ahmad Shahat Alsoghaier.
During the meeting they discussed matters of mutual interests. They stressed the need for strengthening joint collaborative academic and research programs between Dhaka University and Al-Azhar University.
They appraised each other of history and academic programs of their respective university. Egyptian delegation members have invited DU VC Prof. Dr. Md. Akhtaruzzaman to participate at an international conference on Sufism at Al-Azhar University.
Accepting the invitation DU VC said, Al-Azhar University and Dhaka University have similarities to uphold and promote fundamental philosophies, non-communal and humanitarian values.
Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Md. Akhtaruzzaman thanked the guests for their visit to Dhaka University and keen interest in its academic and research programs.
