The '8th Dhaka University Quiz Fest and Freshers' Reception' was held at TSC Auditorium on Thursday.
The '8th Dhaka University Quiz Fest and Freshers' Reception' was held at TSC Auditorium on Thursday.
Dhaka University Pro-Vice Chancellor (Admin) Prof Dr. Mohammad Almojaddidi Alfesani was the chief guest at the closing ceremony and distributed prizes among the winners of the competition. The event was organized by Dhaka University Quiz Society (DUQS).
The event was presided over by DUQS President Rodaba Zaman Adrita and Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences Professor Mohammad Kazi Mahbubur Rahman was present as the special guest. The executive members of Dhaka University Quiz Society were also present.
The event was organized in 5 segments for the students of Dhaka University. The segments are - Inter-Department, Inter-Hall, Inter-Club, Solo Quiz and Novice Quiz. Only the fresh students of the university participated in the Novice Quiz. The final round was held with teams selected from different zone-based quizzes. The mega format was organized in two rounds - Inter-Department, Inter-Hall and Solo Quiz. Quizzers representing social and cultural organizations participated in the Inter-Club segment. 79 teams from different departments and faculties participated in the 'Inter-Department' segment. Residential students of different halls participated in the Inter-Hall segment.

The segments were conducted as quizmasters - Md. Siam Labib, Md. Rifat Hossain, Mohammad Arif, Himel Hasan Akash, Md. Abir Hossain, Fatehi Noor Liza, Sabbir Hossain Kabyo, Meher Nigar Naima Binte Abdullah and Shah Md. Yasin Javed.
