DU English Department celebrates 'Cultural Day'

Dhaka University English Department students celebrated 'Cultural Day' on Monday in order to motivate and increase their involvement in co-curricular activities.

University Pro-Vice Chancellor (Admin) Professor Dr. Muhammad Samad inaugurated this 'Cultural Day' program as the chief guest. Departmental Chairperson Professor Jerin Alam along with departmental teachers and students were present on the occasion.

Pro-Vice Chancellor (Admin) Prof. Dr. Muhammad Samad said knowledge, music, debate, literature and cultural activities unite people of all religions and castes. Citing the examples of famous poets and writers of the world, he said that students should do cultural activities along with studies to become sophisticated people. He urged the students to increase their interest and curiosity to acquire knowledge.

It is to be noted that in this day-long 'Cultural Day' programme, the members of the department's Debate Club, Music Club, Green and Clean Energy Club, Krishnachura Club, Photography Club and Art and Literary Club presented their respective club activities.
