DU BCL to stage rally ahead of quota reform protests

Activists of the Dhaka University (DU) unit of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) will stage a rally on the campus today.
This announcement comes just hours before the scheduled protest rallies by the quota reform movement students, set to take place on all university campuses, including DU, at 3:00 pm.
In response to Monday’s violence, the agitating students have announced to stage protest rallies on all campuses countrywide.
The ongoing protest demanding reform of the quota system in public jobs escalated on Monday with violent clashes at various educational institutions, including DU.
Protesters alleged that BCL members, armed with firearms, crude bombs, hockey sticks, and iron rods, attacked them, prompting the students to retaliate by throwing bricks.
