
Drugs worth Tk 12 cr seized in Kalaroa, one held

Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) members seized Indian drugs worth Tk 12 crore at the Kalaroa border in Satkhira.
The seized drugs include Indian crystal meth ice, LSD and foreign liquor. Meanwhile, BGB arrested a smuggler named Emon (23) on the charge of drug smuggling. The arrested Emon is the son of Abdus Salam of Rajpur village of Kalaroa upazila.
On Thursday (August 29) at around 11:00 pm, Emon was arrested with the drug in Bangladesh, approximately 800 yards from 10 RB of 13/3-S of Rajpur border of the upazila.
According to BGB, Naib Subedar Taher and NCO Naik Hormuz of Kankdanga BOP conducted a raid on the basis of secret information and searched the bag belonging to the detained Eamon under the command of Satkhira 33 BGB Battalion Commander Lt. Col. Md. Ashraful Haque. BGB members recovered 2 kg of Indian crystal meth ice, 2 bottles of LSD and 4 bottles of foreign liquor worth Tk 12 crores from him.
Naib Subedar Taher of Kankdanga BOP said that during the preliminary interrogation, Emon admitted that there are 2 drug cases against him in Kalaroa police station.
Confirming the matter of the incident, Kalaroa Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md. Shahin said that on Friday morning, a case was filed against the arrested accused by the BGB under the Narcotics Control Act.
Satkhira BGB 33 Battalion Commander and Director Lt Col Md Ashraful Haque (PBGM, PSC, G) confirmed the truth of the incident.
