
Dr Enamur inaugurates Jirabo Modern Fire Station in Savar

State Minister for Disaster Management and Relief Dr. Enamur Rahman MP inaugurated Jirabo Modern Fire Service and Civil Defense Station in Savar Cantonment has inaugurated at 11 am on Thursday.
The inauguration ceremony was organized at Jirabo Fire Station premises near Savar Cantonment.
Director General of Fire Service and Civil Defense Directorate Brigadier General Main Uddin, BSP (Bar), NDC, PSC, G, M Phil; Brigadier General Tofail Mustafa Sarwar, Station Commander of Savar Cantonment; 11 Modern Project Director Shahid Atahar Hossain, Deputy Director of Fire Service, Dhaka Division. Saleh Uddin, Assistant Director Md. Anwarul Haque, officials of various institutions, people of various professions, officials of Public Works Department, volunteers, leaders of social and political organizations and media persons were present at the inauguration ceremony.
When the chief guest arrived at the venue at 11 o'clock, a group of smart firemen led by Station Officet Md Silton Ahmed gave him a guard of honour. Receiving the greeting, the Chief Guest planted a sapling in the station courtyard. He then unveiled the auspicious plaque of Jirabo Modern Fire Station and flew the auspicious balloon.
At this time prayers are conducted for the welfare of the country and nation. Maulana Maulana, religious teacher of fire service conducted the prayer. Khaled Ahsan.
The project director gave a welcome speech during the short discussion of the opening ceremony. Shahid Atahar Hossain, Savar Station Commander and Director General of Directorate of Fire Service and Civil Defense spoke on the occasion.
In the speech of the chief guest, the chief guest of the program was the State Minister of the Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief. Md. Enamur Rahman, MP presented various development activities during the present government.
He said, being an industrial area, Jirabo Fire Station will play an important role in protecting the fire safety of this area. There will be modern equipment including world's highest 68 meter turntable ladder. This station is a reflection of long-standing expectations of the area. Director General Brigadier General Md. Main Uddin in his speech presented the development of fire service during the current government.
He said, in 2009, there were only 204 fire stations, including Jirabo Modern Fire Station, the number of operational fire stations is 503. It is one of the 11 modern fire stations equipped with modern equipment. He expressed deep gratitude to the Minister of State and through him to the present Government and Minister of Home Affairs.
