Don't hike fuel price for 3 years : Kishoreganj CAB

The Consumer Association of Bangladesh ( CAB) in Kishoreganj has demanded not to increase the price of fuel for the next three years. The organization has recommended 11 points to reform the country's energy sector, including curbing unfair and unreasonable expenditure.
CAB also introduced the proposed Bangladesh Energy Transition Policy 2024, which outlines a comprehensive strategy for energy sector reform. Among the key demands is the prevention of any unfair and unreasonable expenditure within the sector and a commitment to maintaining current fuel prices for a minimum of three years.
CAB want the cooperation of the new interim government to implement these demands. The 11-point demands for energy sector reform are. Curbing unfair and unreasonable expenditure and not increasing the price of fuel within three years. Adopt action plan to preserve energy rights and ensure energy justice. Formation of search committee based on the proposal of participants in recruitment to BERC.
Removal of cadre officials on the board of directors of various companies in the energy sector. Termination of Ministry's authority to manage power and energy sector. Direct participation of stakeholders in implementation of reform proposals of BERC. To enable BERC to limit the ministry to the responsibilities of a policy regulator.
Repeal of the Electricity and Energy Rapid Supply Act 2010 and Prohibition by the Uncompetitive Investment and Purchase Act Implementation of regulations regarding pricing of petroleum products. Ensuring profit-free public energy services free from looting.
Ensure disclosure and prosecution of those involved in corruption and looting in the energy sector"
