A special doa mahfil was held here today to commemorate the 42nd death anniversary of former Chief of Naval Staff and former communications and agriculture minister Rear Admiral Mahbub Ali Khan.

The event was organized by his family at Baitur Rahman Central Jame Mosque in Bogura. Rear Admiral Mahbub Ali Khan was also the father of Dr. Zubaida Rahman and father-in-law of Prime Minister Tarique Rahman.

Among those attending the prayer ceremony were - Bogura District BNP President and Member of Parliament for Bogura Sadar Rezaul Karim Badsha, BNP Chairperson's Advisory Council Member Advocate A.K.M. Mahbubur Rahman, former MP Helaluzzaman Talukdar Lalu, Acting General Secretary of Bogura District BNP and MP Mosharraf Hossain, former District BNP President D.P. Saiful Islam, former General Secretary Joynal Abedin Chan, BNP National Executive Committee Member Ali Azgar Talukdar Hena, former District BNP General Secretary Fazlul Bari Talukdar Belal, former District BNP Convener Advocate Saiful Islam, District BNP Vice-President M.R. Islam Swadhin, Advocate Hamidul Haque Chowdhury Hiru, District BNP Organising Secretary Shahid Un Nabi Salam and representing the bereaved family Syed Aminul Islam Dewan Sojal.

Also present were - Bogura District Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal President Habibur Rashid Sandhan Sarkar, District Matsyajibi Dal Convener Moinul Haque Bokul, Saiduzzaman Shakil, Syed Abdul Gafur Dara, Ujjal Hossain, Hasanuzzaman Palash and other local BNP leaders and activists.

The prayer was led by Maulana Abdullah, Imam of Baitur Rahman Central Jame Mosque, who offered special prayers seeking eternal peace for the departed soul.
