The Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) is shifting its services for people of zone-5 from Karwan Bazar to Mohammadpur as the old office building of the zone was declared abandoned.

The Karwan Bazar office building will be demolished after Eid and a community at Mohammpur near Shia Masjid will be used as its office.

City residents can receive services like trade licenses, holding tax, and others from the new office.

DNCC staff on Thursday started the relocation process including removing office accessories and documents from the old building which was declared as abandoned one earlier.

DNCC staff on personnel began the process of transferring furniture, electronic devices, and essential documents from the regional office onto trucks in the morning.

Talking to journalists, DNCC zonal executive officer of Mutakabbir Ahmed requested service seekers to contact the new office building as all officers will attend the new office on Sunday.

He said, “We have started the move with our office because the building it's in poses a risk. After Eid, we will also relocate the 180 permanent and 176 temporary shops currently housed in the building to Gabtoli.”

He also said that they will complete the relocation process by two public holidays on Sunday and Monday.
