DMP issues traffic advisory for Rath Jatra in Dhaka

The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) on Wednesday issued a traffic advisory for city residents ahead of the upcoming Rath Jatra and Ulto Rath Jatra celebrations by the Hindu community.
According to a public notice sent from Police Headquarters, the Rath Jatra will be held on June 27 at 3pm, while the Ulto Rath Jatra is scheduled for July 5 at 3pm.
The Rath Jatra routes will cover key city areas including Swamibagh, Joykali Mandir, Ittefaq intersection, Shapla Chattar, Dainik Bangla intersection, Baitul Mukarram, Paltan intersection, Press Club, High Court area, Doel Chattar, Shaheed Minar, Jagannath Hall, Palashi, and Dhakeshwari.
The DMP's Traffic Division has urged all vehicle drivers and commuters to avoid these roads as much as possible from 2pm to 6pm on June 27 and July 5 to ensure smooth traffic management during the religious processions.
