DMP fines Tk 35.14 lakh for traffic rules violation

Dhaka Metropolitan Police's (DMP) Traffic Division has filed a total of 857 cases and realized Taka 35,14,625 as fine in a single day across the capital for violating traffic rules.
The cases were filed and fines imposed on October 7, Muhammad Talebur Rahman, Deputy Commissioner (media) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP), shared the information in a media release here today.
During the drive, a total of 214 vehicles were impounded and 86 others towed.
The DMP information further said these drives will continue to bring discipline on Dhaka's streets.
The DMP has been conducting campaigns against traffic rule breakers to bring the traffic system under control.
