District BNP Secretary Mazharul Islam announces his candidacy for Kishoreganj-1 seat

Kishoreganj District BNP General Secretary and veteran politician Md. Mazharul Islam has announced his candidacy for the party's nomination for the Kishoreganj-1 (Kishoreganj Sadar-Hosseinpur) constituency in the upcoming national parliamentary elections through a press conference.
He announced his candidacy at a press conference at the Kishoreganj district BNP office on Wednesday morning.
In a written statement at the press conference, BNP leader Md. Mazharul Islam said, "I have played a leading role in any program during the party's critical times. Currently, I am working with a firm commitment to implement the 31-point national reconstruction program announced by BNP."
He further said, "The 31 points are the outline of our nation's liberation. Here are the promises of democracy, justice, civil rights and a developed Bangladesh. If elected as an MP with the party's nomination, he will make maximum efforts to improve the quality of life of the land and people of Kishoreganj, prevent corruption and establish good governance."
District BNP General Secretary Mazharul Islam said, "I was on the streets of Kishoreganj in the 1990 anti-dictatorship movement. I participated shoulder to shoulder with young activists and those who fought to restore democracy. Then, during Sheikh Hasina's rule for 17 years, I stood by the people despite all the torture, lawsuits, imprisonment and oppression. Therefore, announcing my candidacy is not an aspiration, it is a continuation of my life's struggle in politics, a reflection of the people's love and an unwavering commitment to restore democracy."
Former President of Kishoreganj District BNP Principal Md. Habibur Rahman, Vice President of District BNP Md. Amiruzzaman, Md. Ismail Hossain Madhu, Organizing Secretary Haji Israfil Mia, President of Kishoreganj Municipality BNP Aminul Islam Ashfaq, BNP leader Masudul Hasan, President of District Jubo Dal Khasruzzaman Sharif, General Secretary Abdullah Al Masud Sumon, and leaders of Kishoreganj District and Hossainpur Upazila BNP and its affiliates were present at the press conference.
