Dismissed Ansar member hacked to death with domestic weapon in Tangail

A dismissed Ansar member named Hanif Khan (37) was hacked to death by miscreants in Basail, Tangail. The incident took place in Bilpara area of Habla Union of the upazila on Tuesday night.
The deceased, Hanif Khan (37), is the son of the deceased Baktar Ali Khan of Habla Uttar Para village in the upazila. Police have arrested two people on charges of involvement in the incident.
Police and locals said that on his way home from Bilpara market at night, miscreants hacked Hanif with a country-made sharp weapon and fled. Later, locals found him and took him to Tangail Medical College Hospital, where doctors declared him dead.
ASI Atiqur Rahman, in-charge of the Tangail Medical College Hospital police box, said that a temporarily suspended Ansar member was brought in seriously injured and the doctor declared him dead. The body has been kept in the hospital morgue.
Basail Police Station OC Alamgir Kabir said, Hanif Khan was killed by slashing his hands, feet and head with a sharp weapon. The deceased's wife Monira Sultana filed a case with the police station as the plaintiff in the incident. Later, the police arrested two accused named in the case. The arrested will be sent to Tangail court on Wednesday.
