Discussion on national budget held ar DU

A discussion meeting titled 'National Budget Review 2024-2025' was held at Professor Muzaffar Ahmed Chowdhury Auditorium on Monday ar the initiative of Dhaka University Economics Department. University Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. ASM Maksud Kamal was present as the chief guest on the occasion.
Department chairperson Prof. Masuda Yasmin presided over the ceremony. Firdausi Nahar Agriculture and Food Security Sector, Prof. Dr. Rumana Haque Health Sector, Prof. Dr. Saima Haque Vidisha labor market and women's empowerment and Prof. Dr. Syed Naemul Wadud discussed the budget allocated to the governance sector. Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. ASM Maksud Kamal said, depending on the importance, the proposed budget should determine the expenditure sector and amount of expenditure. Emphasizing on the proper use of money allocated in the budget and increasing transparency and efficiency to prevent its wastage, he said, we all have to work with honesty, dedication and professionalism.
Besides, we need to convert our human resources into skilled labor force and send them to the international market. Besides giving adequate allocation to various sectors, he emphasized on giving more allocation to education sector and climate change sector.
