A discussion and exchange meeting was held at Longadu in Rangamati on the occasion of the historic 6-Dapa Day celebrations.

The meeting was held at the public library auditorium on Friday (June 7) at 11 a.m. organized by the Upazila Awami League and its affiliated organizations.

Longadu Upazila Awami League Joint General Secretary Shahadat Hossain Shipur and President of Upazila Awami League Md. Newly elected Chairman of Longadu Upazila Parishad and General Secretary of Upazila Awami League Babul Das Babu was present as the chief guest under the chairmanship of Selim.

Acting President of Upazila Chhatra League Al Mamun Khan gave a welcome speech at the meeting and Kamal Hossain Kamal, Chairman of Mainimukh Union Parishad, spoke on behalf of the local Union Parishad chairmen.

In the speech of the chief guest, Babul Das Babu said that the six-point movement announced by Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman got a new dimension on June 7, 1966. Under the leadership of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the undisputed leader of Bengalis, the outline of independence was drawn up with the unwavering support of Bengalis for the six points. In the continuation of the six-point movement-struggle, the independence movement of Bengali became a freedom struggle. After all, in continuation of this, independent sovereign Bangladesh emerged in 1971 through the armed liberation war under the leadership of Bangabandhu.

He also said that to make Longduk a smart upazila, everyone should move forward in unity regardless of party affiliation and requested everyone's cooperation in managing the upazila parishad.

Rangamati Zilla Parishad member Asma Begum, Upazila Parishad newly elected Vice Chairman Rakib Hossain, Atarkachra Union Parishad Chairman Ajay Chakma Mitra, Longadu UP Chairman Bikram Chakma Boli and many former and present chairmen and UP members were present in the meeting.

Upazila Awami League Advisor Subhash Chandra Dash, Vice President Abdul Ali, Hossain Ali, Joint General Secretary Indranath Chakma Rocky, Former Organizing Secretary Mosharraf Hossain, Organizing Secretary Mujibur Rahman, Women Affairs Secretary Anwara Begum, Jubo League President Md. Chan Mia, General Secretary of the Volunteer League. Anis, Chhatra League organizing secretary Al Mahmud and others.

Also, upazila, union and ward level leaders and activists of Awami League and affiliated organizations were present. At the end of the meeting, the common people of the upazila and the leaders of various social and political organizations welcomed the newly elected chairman Babul Das Babu with flowers.
