International Disaster Mitigation Day 2025 was celebrated in Gafargaon, Mymensingh, keeping in mind the slogan 'Coordinated efforts prevent disasters'.
On this occasion, a colourful procession was taken out from the Upazila Parishad office on Monday morning at the initiative of the Upazila Administration and Upazila Disaster Management Department.
After the procession, the discussion meeting held at the Upazila Parishad auditorium was presided over by UNO M. N. Abdullah Al Mamun. Assistant Commissioner (Land) Amir Salman Rony, Upazila Project Implementation Officer Jahangir Alam, Upazila Fire Service Station Officer Delwar Hossain, Upazila Primary Education Officer Noor Alam Bhuiyan and others spoke.
After the discussion, a drill on earthquake and fire was performed.
