Dinajpur Medical College Hospital upgraded to 1,000 beds

Dinajpur Medical College Hospital has been upgraded from a 500-bed hospital to a 1,000-bed hospital, ending the long-awaited hopes of Dinajpur residents. This decision was confirmed in a notification issued by the Expenditure Management Section -6 of the Expenditure Management Sub-Division-2 of the Finance Department of the Ministry of Finance.
The notification signed by Deputy Secretary Shukla Sarkar on Saturday announced the launch of medical services in extended beds.
In view of a previous memorandum from the Health Services Department, the Finance Department has given its consent to increase the number of beds subject to compliance with appropriate rules and formalities. A copy of the notification has been sent to the Secretary of the Health Services Department of the Bangladesh Secretariat, the Deputy Secretary of the Management-1 Section of the Health Services Department and the concerned Additional Secretary of the Ministry of Finance, including various departments.
Satisfaction has been expressed with this initiative to increase the number of beds in the hospital from 500 to 1,000 beds and to start services in the expanded beds. Dinajpur residents have warmly congratulated Prime Minister Tarique Rahman for increasing the number of beds in Dinajpur Medical College Hospital from 500 to 1,000. Dinajpur residents have also warmly congratulated the president of this hospital, Dinajpur-6 MP for Social Welfare and Women and Child Affairs Dr. AZM Zahid Hossain, and Dinajpur-3 MP Syed Jahangir Alam. The concerned people are expecting a major improvement in the medical sector of the northern region with this step of the government.
