Devastating fire at Shabnam Oil Mills in Rupganj

A massive fire broke out at the refinery unit of Shabnam Oil Mills, a private oil factory located in the Tarabo area of Rupganj upazila, Narayanganj, early Monday morning.
According to eyewitnesses and factory workers, around 300 workers are employed at the factory. At around 3:30 AM, a sudden blaze erupted in the oil refinery plant, quickly spreading throughout the facility. Upon receiving the news, five units from Demra Fire Service, Kanchpur Fire Service, and Narayanganj Zone rushed to the spot and managed to bring the fire under control after two hours of effort.
By that time, the flames had already gutted machinery, equipment, and office furniture, reducing them to ashes. The extent of the damage could not yet be determined, although no casualties or injuries were reported.
