To curb the transmission of vector-borne tropical diseases and promote an eco-friendly clean environment, the Faridpur Civil Surgeon’s Office and General Hospital jointly organized a mass public awareness rally and roadside seminar focused on dengue prevention.

The civic safety program was staged at 10:30 AM on Saturday within the central compound of Faridpur General Hospital.

Prior to the commencement of the colorful street procession, an informative orientation seminar was held under the chairmanship of Faridpur Civil Surgeon Dr. Mahmudul Hasan. Faridpur Deputy Commissioner Mazharul Islam graced the multi-sectoral health forum as the chief guest.

The high-profile advocacy meeting was also attended by Faridpur Superintendent of Police Md. Nazrul Islam, Deputy Civil Surgeon Dr. Shah Mohammad Badruddoza, Administrative Officer Md. Jamal Molla, District Sanitary Inspector Bazlur Rashid Khan, Sadar Upazila Health Office Health Inspector (In-charge) M. Shamim Azad, and Kotwali Police Station OC Mahmudul Hasan, alongside numerous doctors, healthcare administrators, and medical officers.

Following the conclusion of the seminar, a colorful public awareness rally was brought out. The procession commenced from the front gates of Faridpur General Hospital, traversed the principal thoroughfares of the district town, encircled the Faridpur Press Club intersection, and eventually marched back to the hospital premises to conclude the day's proceedings.

During the panel discussion, public health experts and administrative heads noted that Dengue is a highly preventable viral disease primarily transmitted through the bites of infected female Aedes aegypti mosquitoes. The speakers maintained that there is no alternative to robust personal, familial, and community-level sanitation to contain the seasonal vector surge.

The health program saw spontaneous and enthusiastic participation from senior health administrators, clinical specialists, resident doctors, nursing staff, laboratory technicians, and cross-sections of local civic groups.
