Deputy Commissioner of Sylhet Sheikh Russel Hasan distributed 500 blankets of the Prime Minister's Relief Fund among the poor in Sylhet.

On Tuesday (January 9) late at night, he distributed blankets among the needy and destitute of Chowhatta, Hazrat Shahjalal (RA) shrine and railway station area of Sylhet city.

Deputy Commissioner of Sylhet Sheikh Russel Hasan said, "People are suffering in severe winter, I have come to the field with my colleagues after hearing this." We have started distribution of blankets among the needy. Apart from this, he also said that the program of distributing blankets to the helpless people who are on the side of the road will continue.

He also said that the severity of winter has increased over the past few days. That is why we are going around at night in different parts of the city and delivering blankets to people who are cold.

The poor and destitute people are happy to get blankets in winter.
Rumana Sultana, who took shelter at Sylhet Hazrat Shahjalal (RA) shrine after receiving a blanket from the Deputy Commissioner late at night, said, "I was preparing to sleep in the shrine at night, and I was happy that the DC Sir gave me the blanket." I try to avoid the cold by covering myself somehow. There is no one to approach him.
