Meanwhile, the demand for construction of sustainable embankments is long -standing, said more than a hundred people in different areas of the Panguchi river in the upazila. Each year breakdown occurs as planned and permanent dams are not constructed.

For this reason, the negligence of the officials of the Water Development Board is responsible. Because when the tidal water is upset, the locals voluntarily jumped to repair the dam. At that time, the authorities took initiative to repair the dam. It increases the cost of work on the one hand, and on the other hand these work is low quality. Besides, shrimp cultivation is done in the area.

The shrimp farmers pierced the barricade and raised salt water in the agricultural land. The dam is severely weakened. Due to this, many people said that the people of this upazila have recently formed an alliance against the shrimp of salt water to survive in such a situation. Abu Mia, a farmer affected by various disasters during the day, said, 'We have a bigger fear than the storm. The embankment built half a hundred years ago in the protection of the coast is no longer able to push the storm.

The damaged dams have already survived in any way. The allocation for the construction work project of the Local Government has not yet been implemented. How many hundred crores of money has been allocated for construction of strong dams, plans, designs, how many promises, many promises have been assured of the common people of these areas.And every time there is no end to the amount of money wasted through corruption and irregularities in the name of dam repair and reform after the cyclone.

However, in the face of future risks, the cyclone Cedar and Ayala adopted the 'Coastal Embacking Improvement Project' (CEIP) with the financial support of the World Bank. Under the project titled Conservation of Morelganj Upazila Sadar and adjoining areas of the district and re -enclosing the poisonous river, various work will be done in the area of 12 km. In this money, the 10km river bank defense dam, one kilometer repair, re -excavation of the river Bishankhali and re -re -opening of the canal can still be completed by the government's concerned office. That didn't happen anymore.

It is not unknown today. However, these works are expected to be completed by 2024. Earlier on April 27, 2023 the work of the Panguchi river to protect the river Paguchi area was partially started. Safiuddin said that the work of the Panaguchi river will be prevented when the project is completed. But only in some places of Fulhata, there is no arrangement in the rest of the area.

Netizens say that Morelganj and Sharankhola upazilas of Bagerhat are the most vulnerable among the disaster areas due to the crisis.
