Cyclone Remal : At least one more dies

At least one more person has died, amid the ongoing weather impact of cyclone "Remal", after drowning in a canal in Chattogram on Monday.
He was aged 60.
In addition, an unidentified 25-year old youth has also died but his death could not be immediately linked to the cyclone with certainty. An autopsy has been ordered to determine the cause of his death.
Earlier, ten deaths were reported across the country due to the devastating influence of Remal, and the latest fatalities take the count to at least 11.
Sources said the unidentified youth sat on the banks of Kalabagicha Canal at Asadganj Dry Fish Market in the port city's Kotwali area on Monday afternoon.
All of a sudden, he fell into the canal. Some youths nearby quickly jumped into the water and brought up the body of the youth.
He was rushed to Chattogram Medical College Hospital (CMCH) where the duty doctor declared him dead, said Assistant Commissioner (AC) Atanu Chakraborty of Chattogram Metropolitan Police (CMP) Kotwali Zone.
He also said that the body bore no marks of injury and was sent to the hospital morgue for autopsy.
On the other hand, Mansur Alam, 60, was a fisherman by profession hailing from Popadia village, Boalkhali upazila, Chattogram district.
According to locals, he went to the Chhandariya canal near his home for fishing on Monday morning and was washed away by a tide.
Later, locals noticed his body floating near Badurtala area in Popadia village and recovered the body, said Officer in-Charge (OC) Ashab Uddin of Boalkhali police station.
He was rushed to the local Upazila Health Complex where the on-duty doctor declared him dead, the OC added.
