Cumilla CEVC achieves best poisition again in online VAT return submission

Cumilla Customs, Excise and VAT Commissoinerate ( CEVC) has again achieved the best position in the country for submitting online returns for the 14 times.

With this, the CEVC team achieved excellence fourteen times.

Customs Excise and VAT Commissionerate (CEVC) Cumilla team active in the field to implement the government's commitment to Digital Bangladesh. First hat-trick in October, double hat-trick in January 2021, triple hat-trick in April. Comilla is constantly competing to surpass itself. The rate of online return submission was 97.03% in September '21. The overall online return deposit rate of National Board of Revenue is about 53.75%.

In the current October, 96.55% returns have been submitted online in this commissionerate. This achievement has been possible only through the activism of the officials at the field level. Various activities have been taken by the government in the hope of digitalizing the country as directed by the chairman. Online VAT registration and return submission is one of the digital activities under the National Board of Revenue. NBR sees the success of filing VAT returns fourteen times in a row as a 'surprise'. It is learned that the commissioner has achieved this with only one third of the manpower. The rate of return submission was 97.03% as 6 returns were deposited in Dropse on 21st September. The rate of return submission for the month of September 21 stood at 98.55% due to the seriousness of the issue of drops in October. Behind the success is the hardworking team of Customs, Excise and VAT Commissionerate Cumilla (CEVC) active in the commitment to implement Digital Bangladesh. Mohammad Belal Hossain Chowdhury, Commissioner, Cumilla Customs, Excise and VAT Commissionerate, is the key to making this team champion with charismatic leadership. The rate of return submission is gradually increasing.

A team of 150 members has been trained in 7 zoom meetings and intensive monitoring has been done. Above all, the thirst for hard work and success of the patriotic team members has brought success to the Cumilla Commissionerate in revenue growth and online return submission. All the 17 circles and 08 divisions under the Commissionerate were sincere.

The following steps are taken as a special precaution in online return submission: Telephone contact from the Circle Office without disturbing the taxpayers, Return submission late at night by selecting experts from a small manpower, Officers wearing masks and hygienic activities, Receive various programs including sending bulk SMS on mobile.

Deputy Commissioner (Headquarters, Cumilla ) Md. Fakhrul Amin Chowdhury said, Comilla Customs Team is moving forward on the path of Digital Bangladesh announced by Hon'ble Prime Minister.
He is hopeful that the trend of filing returns will continue in the future as in the last fourteen months.

Commissioner Mohammad Belal Hossain Chowdhury said that the National Board of Revenue is working on a special agenda to implement the digital commitment of the government.

Selection of competent officers for more complex tasks, monitoring motivation has been helpful in this regard. The CEVC team has worked on the challenge of manpower constraints. Holds consistent success.
