Khulna Bureau
Cultural Affairs Minister Nitai Roy Chowdhury has remarked that culture serves as a nation's defining identity on the global stage, underscoring the critical role of cultural diplomacy in the modern era.
Speaking as the chief guest at a divisional-level exchange meeting organized to mark Nazrul Year celebrations at the Khulna Divisional Commissioner's conference room on Sunday afternoon, the minister noted that cultural exchanges build bridges between nations that traditional foreign policy alone often cannot achieve.
In response to a long-standing public demand from the residents of Khulna, Minister Nitai Roy officially declared Zero Point as "Nazrul Chattar."
Presided over by Khulna Divisional Commissioner Md. Abdullah Harun, the event featured Khulna-1 MP Amir Ejaz Khan, KCC Administrator Nazrul Islam Monju, KDA Chairman S. M. Shafiqul Alam, WASA Chairman Mohammad Moniruzzaman, and Range DIG Md. Mostafizur Rahman as special guests. A keynote paper on national poet Kazi Nazrul Islam was presented by Ministry of Cultural Affairs Joint Secretary Mu. Billal Hossain Khan.
The meeting drew a diverse gathering of deputy commissioners from the division's ten districts, divisional officials, political leaders, Jasas representatives, Nazrul researchers, literary enthusiasts, educators, theater personalities, NGO representatives, media personnel, and socio-cultural activists.
