Ctg-Cox's Bazar special train starts again

Special trains on Cox's Bazar route from Chattogram started operation again on Wednesday after 12 consecutive days of suspension.
The special train departed Chattogram at 7 am on Wednesday (June 12) and reached Cox's Bazar iconic railway station at 10:20 am.
The same train leaves Cox's Bazar for Chattogram at 7 pm. On the occasion of Eid, the train will run till June 24, said the railway officials.
Chattogram Divisional Railway Manager Saiful Islam said the special train has been started. This train will run till June 24.
The railway authorities launched the special train on the route on April 8. It was closed on May 30. The rail authoruty said the train was stopped due to engine and locomaster problems. It was alleged that the train was stopped due to pressure from the bus owners. Secretary General of Bangladesh Passenger Welfare Association Mozammel Haque Chowdhury made this allegation.
The train halts and transports passengers at Sholshahar, Janalihat, Patia, Dohazari, Satkania, Chakaria, Dulahajara and Ramu stations on the rout. There are 438 seats in 10 compartments in the train. The train carried 54,814 passengers in just 52 days before its closure. The income was about Tk 1,04,41,000. The average daily income was Tk two lakh.
