Corona guidelines being violated in shops, malls in Sylhet
Sylhet Bureau
As shops and shopping malls were reopened in Sylhet city and district, on condition of strictly following Covid-19 guidelines amid lockdown, many people were in a rush to complete their shopping ahead of Eid-ul-Fitr. While visiting several markets in the city, it was found that many people including shops owners and workers in different markets of the city were seen violating health rules on Saturday.
It is mentionable that the government announced a major relaxation in the ongoing third week of the nationwide strict lockdown to reopen shops and shopping malls from last Sunday. Though the law enforcing forces have taken strict steps to make people aware of wearing mask, some people were seen without mask in the markets.
It has also been found that though the shop owners and workers were demonstrated to reopen the shops and malls, they were seen without mask in various markets in the city.
There were a huge number of crowds at temporary vegetable markets, railway super market, different shopping malls and grocery shops in the district. While visiting different shops and markets, it has been found that though the aged people are at more risk of infecting with coronavirus, they were seen without mask in the markets. Many people have masks with them but they hanged it on their throat.
Secretary of Sylhet Millennium Market Business Association Md. Siraj Uddin , said, "All traders are using masks. They might put off masks due to unbearable hot. We are making people aware of wearing masks through micking."
