Construction of first upazila public library 'Lyceum' in Boalkhali begins at nitiative of UNO Mehedi Hasan Faruk

For the first time, an initiative has been taken to establish a public library at the upazila level in Boalkhali, Chittagong. The construction of the 'Upazila Public Library-Lyceum' has begun with the relentless efforts of UNO Mehedi Hasan Farooq. It is expected that the library will be officially inaugurated soon after the construction work is completed.
This initiative has been taken with the aim of instilling the habit of reading among students, children, adolescents, and young people of all ages in the upazila, creating opportunities for knowledge acquisition, and building a knowledge-based society. This initiative, being implemented with the cooperation of the upazila administration, is being seen as an important step in developing knowledge acquisition and mindfulness locally.
According to the plan, the library is scheduled to be open every day from 9 am to 8 pm. This will give people from different classes and professions the opportunity to read books and gain knowledge at their convenience.
UNO Mehedi Hasan Faruk said there are also plans to organize a book reading festival centered around the library. Through this, initiatives will be taken to increase the interest in reading books among children, adolescents and young people, instill a regular reading habit, and develop creative thinking.
Those concerned expect that the 'Lyceum' will become a vibrant center of knowledge, mindfulness and creativity in Boalkhali in the future. In addition, this initiative will play an important role in creating an educated, aware and enlightened society by making the new generation book-oriented.
