The Bengali daily Bhorer Kagoj authorities have explained the situation that has arisen with Bhorer Kagoj, which is moving forward with the slogan of echoing the free spirit.

We are victims of a conspiracy. The head office of the organization has been temporarily closed to prevent the malicious attempt to seize and establish control over Bhorer Kagoj through the planned chaos created by special circles. However, the regular publication of the newspaper continues. 'Bhorer Kagoj Live' is going on as usual.

Bhorer Kagoj is a widely circulated traditional daily in the country. For the past few days, some employees of the organization have been raising unreasonable and unrealistic demands and creating a chaotic situation around the organization in the name of movement. Such demands have never been raised in the past 33 years since the establishment of Bhorer Kagoj. The statement of the Bhorer Kagoj authorities in this regard is as follows:

1. A special group has been involved in a conspiracy to seize power and establish control over Bhorer Kagoj, motivated by political motives. As part of this attempt, they are misleading a section of Bhorer Kagoj employees by raising unreasonable demands and inciting violence.
2. We would like to inform everyone concerned that Bhorer Kagoj has not been closed. Only the head office of the organization has been closed due to planned chaos. The printing house and online department (Bhorer Kagoj.com) and other offices and camp offices are open. Due to the emerging situation, we have continued the regular publication of Bhorer Kagoj under special arrangements.
3. We would like to make it clear that the Bhorer Kagoj authorities do not have a policy of depriving the employees of the organization of their legal and fair dues. Since its establishment, it has always been paying the legal and fair salaries and allowances of all levels of employees. It is determined to pay in the future as well. Despite this, the confused section of the employees is creating a chaotic situation and is engaged in various propaganda against the Bhorer Kagoj authorities. They are making various threats in public and clear language along with some outsiders.
4. In this context, the Bhorer Kagoj authorities are forced to close the head office of Bhorer Kagoj for the safety of the organization and the safety of life and property.

5. In the interests of the organization, the employment of some employees has been terminated according to Section 26 of the Bangladesh Labor Act 2006. According to this decision taken on January 20, the concerned employees have been informed by registered mail and e-mail at their respective addresses. In accordance with Section 26 of the Labor Act, all the employees whose jobs have been terminated have been informed to receive all their dues on time.

6. The authorities of Bhorer Kagoj firmly state that any conspiracy/attempt to destroy or seize the traditional and reader-favorite daily Bhorer Kagoj, which is the bread and butter of hundreds of employees of the organization located in the capital Dhaka and all over the country, will not succeed. Along with this, we call on all members of the Bhorer Kagoj family to fulfill their respective responsibilities without being misled or falling into the trap of anyone's provocation.

7. The troublemakers have not stopped at just venting their anger against Bhorer Kagoj as an organization; they are also engaged in completely false, fabricated and conspiratorial propaganda against the organization's publishers, editors, news editors, administrative managers, advertising managers and the head of the accounting department and other officials. They are threatening and intimidating the above-mentioned officials in various ways, mentioning their names and titles. On January 26, the troublemakers gathered in front of the house of Bhorer Kagoj News Editor Ikhtiyar Uddin and abused and threatened them in foul language. Local residents were also disturbed by this.

8. We believe that the concerned persons can avoid such threats, intimidation, conspiracy and violence and take refuge in the prevailing labor laws and courts in the country if necessary. The behavior they are currently showing cannot be desirable to anyone.
